Job Summary & Tips for Applying

AI-generated summary and tips to help you highlight your strengths effectively.

Quick Summary & What to Highlight: The Pharmacist position at Costco in Grande Prairie, AB covers the full expanded scope of pharmacy practice, from dispensing and clinical review to patient education, wellness clinics and acting as Pharmacist-In-Charge. Two things to put first on your resume: your active pharmacist licence in good standing in Alberta, and hands-on experience with medication therapy management and patient counselling, since both run through every duty in this role.

Resume & Application Tips: Match your resume’s language to the posting’s terms: medication reconciliation, therapeutic substitutions and best possible medication histories are worth naming directly if they reflect your experience. If you have administered injections or conducted wellness clinics, list those specifically, since both appear as duties here. A measurable example, such as “conducted 30+ medication reviews per month, reducing potential drug interactions flagged at dispensary,” shows the depth of clinical work this role involves. Have your licence number and current certificate of good standing ready to provide.

Interview Preparation: Prepare a concrete example of a time you caught a drug interaction or contraindication at the dispensary and resolved it, since clinical review is central to this posting. You’ll also want to speak to your experience supervising pharmacy interns or students, given the Pharmacist-In-Charge responsibility. Worth asking: what the typical dispensary volume looks like at this location, and whether the store currently offers wellness clinics or is building that program, since both shape how much of the expanded-scope practice you’ll use regularly.
