About the Role: Package Handler/Non-Driver

As a Package Handler at the Castlegar facility, your primary responsibility is to ensure freight is handled efficiently and accurately. Responsibilities

Day-to-day work in this role is centred on keeping freight moving accurately and safely through the facility. From the moment packages arrive to when they’re sorted and ready for the next stage, Package Handlers are essential to the entire operation running smoothly.

  • Load and unload freight from vehicles and sorting areas within the facility
  • Scan packages to ensure accurate tracking and routing throughout the system
  • Sort freight efficiently and correctly according to destination and handling requirements
  • Lift and manoeuvre packages weighing up to 70 lbs independently, and up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment
  • Complete mandatory training including all basic and recurrency requirements
  • Operate in a PC Windows environment as needed for scanning and data entry tasks
  • Work varying shifts based on operational business needs

Requirements / Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred for this position

  • Ability to complete all training requirements, including any mandatory testing and annual accreditations
