Package Handler/Non-Driver – FedEx – Castlegar, BC

Based out of Castlegar, British Columbia, Federal Express Corporation Canada is looking for a Package Handler/Non-Driver to join their facility operations team. If you’re physically active, reliable, and comfortable working in a warehouse-like environment, this could be a solid fit for you.

About the Role: Package Handler/Non-Driver

As a Package Handler at the Castlegar facility, your primary responsibility is to ensure freight is handled efficiently and accurately. You’ll be working within a fast-paced, logistics-driven environment where attention to detail and physical stamina are key. This is a non-driving position focused entirely on warehouse floor operations.

You’ll be expected to complete all required basic and recurrency training, operate in a PC Windows environment, and adapt to varying shifts based on business needs. Working safely and following FedEx Canada operational standards is a core part of the role.

Responsibilities

Day-to-day work in this role is centred on keeping freight moving accurately and safely through the facility. From the moment packages arrive to when they’re sorted and ready for the next stage, Package Handlers are essential to the entire operation running smoothly.

• Load and unload freight from vehicles and sorting areas within the facility
• Scan packages to ensure accurate tracking and routing throughout the system
• Sort freight efficiently and correctly according to destination and handling requirements
• Lift and manoeuvre packages weighing up to 70 lbs independently, and up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment
• Complete mandatory training including all basic and recurrency requirements
• Operate in a PC Windows environment as needed for scanning and data entry tasks
• Work varying shifts based on operational business needs

• High School Diploma or GED is preferred for this position
• Knowledge of FedEx Canada operations and Canadian Customs regulations is considered an asset
• Good interpersonal skills to work effectively with team members and supervisors
• Physical capability to lift 70 lbs and manoeuvre packages up to 150 lbs using proper equipment
• Ability to complete all training requirements, including any mandatory testing and annual accreditations
• Bilingualism (French and English) is required for candidates residing in Quebec
