Job Summary & Tips for Applying
Quick Summary & What to Highlight: This Seasonal Package Handler role at FedEx in Delta, BC pays $21.50/hr and centres on loading, unloading, scanning, and sorting freight at an early morning shift starting at 5:00 a.m. Put your valid Class 5 driver’s licence and your experience handling heavy freight (up to 70 lbs lifted, up to 150 lbs manoeuvred with equipment) at the top of your resume, since both are required to qualify.
Resume & Application Tips: Lead your resume with your Class 5 driver’s licence number and expiry, and note your clean driving record explicitly since FedEx reviews your driver’s abstract as part of the selection process. If you’ve worked in a warehouse, distribution centre, or delivery operation, describe the freight volumes and equipment you used. A line such as “Loaded and sorted an average of 400 packages per shift using powered pallet jacks” gives a concrete sense of the scale of your work. Confirm your availability for five early morning starts per week across Monday through Saturday.
Interview Preparation: Be ready to describe a time you handled a physically demanding workload safely and consistently, since lifting and manoeuvring heavy packages is central to the role. Have a specific answer ready for questions about your early morning availability across Monday to Saturday. Worth asking: whether the seasonal contract has a defined end date, and whether there is a process for seasonal staff to move into permanent positions afterward.
