About the Role: Operations Supervisor

As an Operations Supervisor at the Delta FedEx station, you’ll be responsible for directing package handler teams, overseeing efficient and safe sortation, managing trailer movement in coordination with the linehaul department, and ensuring all operations comply with FedEx policies and applicable regulations. Responsibilities

In this supervisory role, you’ll be hands-on with both people management and operational execution. From leading daily team meetings to investigating service issues and mentoring new supervisors, your contributions will directly impact station performance and employee experience.

  • Champion FedEx’s Safety Above All culture and support all related safety initiatives and programs
  • Manage Package Handlers to ensure safe, efficient sortation of packages through the facility
  • Plan, organize, and direct specific day-to-day operations, minimizing costs and maximizing quality
  • Oversee trailer movement, tracking, and administration in coordination with the linehaul department
  • Analyze operational performance through direct observation and report interpretation, then execute improvement plans
  • Lead daily employee and planning meetings to communicate operational updates and daily goals
  • Administer employee relations and safety strategies, maintaining strict confidentiality
  • Train new employees on job duties, quality assurance, hazardous materials handling, VEDR coaching, and dock safety
  • Mentor and develop critical skill sets for new or less-experienced Operations Supervisors
  • Investigate and resolve customer service issues or escalate as appropriate

Requirements / Skills

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred (or Associate’s Degree / 2+ years of college in a related field)
  • Experience: Minimum 6 months in a relevant environment — package handling at FedEx, fast-paced retail, hospitality, fulfillment, warehouse, dock work, or supervisory experience (military experience with honourable discharge also accepted)
  • Leadership ability: Demonstrated capacity to inspire a shared vision, empower a team, and positively influence diverse groups
  • Communication skills: Comfortable speaking to both small and large groups; strong verbal and written communication
  • Analytical thinking: Ability to read and draw conclusions from numerical data and written reports
  • Technical proficiency: Competent with Microsoft Office and web-based applications
  • Physical requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs; comfortable working in environments with varying temperatures and noise levels
