About the Role: Member Service Assistant

As a Member Service Assistant, you will be responsible for welcoming members, verifying membership cards, and performing safety and security checks around the warehouse. You’ll help ensure a smooth flow of operations by counting members entering the store, addressing safety concerns, and maintaining cleanliness at entrances and exits. This role also involves assisting members with inquiries and providing a friendly, approachable presence throughout the day.

In addition to interacting with members, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the safety and security of the warehouse, contributing to Costco’s reputation for excellent service and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities of a Member Service Assistant

• Welcome members as they enter the warehouse, verify membership cards, and provide assistance with carts or directions as needed.
• Conduct hourly safety and security checks around the warehouse and perimeter, addressing hazards like spills or blocked exits.
• Perform exit receipt checks, ensuring accuracy and resolving member concerns promptly.
• Monitor access to the warehouse, including coordinating armored transport arrivals and observing security-sensitive activities.
• Drive a personal vehicle for after-hours perimeter checks, reporting suspicious activities and ensuring safe closure of the facility.
• Maintain cleanliness at entry and exit areas, dry wet carts, and assist members with loading or shopping as necessary.
• Fill out inspection forms and report findings to the duty manager, ensuring safety standards are upheld at all times.
