Meat Associate – Walmart – Victoria, BC
Location: Victoria, BC | Company: Walmart
Walmart Canada’s Victoria location on Hillside Avenue is looking for a Meat Associate to join their in-store team. If you enjoy hands-on work in a fast-paced retail environment, take pride in food safety, and like connecting with customers on the shop floor, this could be a solid fit.
Day to day, you’ll be keeping the meat department stocked, organized, and customer-ready — rotating products, preparing deli items, following food safety and cold chain protocols, and making sure pricing and signage are always accurate. It’s a role that blends physical work with customer service in equal measure.
About the Role: Meat Associate
As a Meat Associate at Walmart Canada, you’ll be responsible for maintaining a clean, well-stocked, and properly zoned department at all times. That means regular stock rotation, removing expired or unsellable products, and ensuring merchandise is correctly signed and priced according to established procedures for markups, markdowns, and labelling.
You’ll also be preparing and serving deli products — including meats, cheeses, and fried chicken — using equipment like slicers, rotisserie ovens, and deep fryers. Strict adherence to Health and Safety guidelines and Walmart’s company policies is essential, and flexibility with scheduling (including evenings, weekends, and holidays) is a key part of the role.
Benefits and Salary
The minimum rate of pay for this position starts from $18.70 per hour. Walmart Canada also offers a range of benefits including stock options, comprehensive benefits and life insurance (based on hours or employment status), paid time off, a store discount, access to the Live Better U education program, EQ Health support, and a Deferred Profit Sharing plan. This is a Regular/Permanent position with genuine career growth opportunities.
