About the Role: Head of Industry, Telco, Media and Entertainment

As an industry visionary and orchestrator, you’ll be responsible for setting the strategic direction of your vertical across Canada. This means developing a deep understanding of your clients’ business objectives and aligning them with Google and YouTube’s media, measurement, and platform capabilities. You’ll work cross-functionally with dozens of partners across Google to deliver cohesive, client-centred strategies that generate durable, long-term growth.

Responsibilities

As Head of Industry, your day-to-day work blends team leadership, executive-level client engagement, and cross-functional coordination. You’ll be driving results that matter — not just for Google’s bottom line, but for the Canadian brands and businesses that rely on these platforms to grow. Here’s what that looks like in practice:

  • Lead and inspire a team of Account Executives and Managers, setting clear priorities and making decisions aligned with Google’s values and long-term client growth objectives
  • Build and maintain productive, trust-based relationships with C-level clients and executive stakeholders across Canada’s Telco, Media, and Entertainment sectors
  • Develop and execute a clear, long-term joint strategy between Google and key clients, ensuring cross-functional alignment across internal teams
  • Plan and achieve growth goals through the strategic presentation of Google advertising products and solutions, helping clients meet their marketing objectives
  • Develop deep expertise in Google’s advertising ecosystem — including Search, YouTube, AI-powered Performance, CTV, and measurement platforms — and apply that knowledge to deliver client value

Requirements / Skills

This is an advanced-level leadership role that calls for a candidate with substantial experience in advertising sales or digital media, a strong track record of managing high-performing teams, and the credibility to engage at the C-suite level.   • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field
  • 12+ years of experience in advertising sales, digital marketing, consulting, or media

  • Knowledge of Google Ad Solutions, including video advertising, AI-powered Performance, and CTV formats (preferred)
