About the Role: Forklift Operator
As a Forklift Operator at DHL Supply Chain, you will be responsible for operating powered warehouse equipment to move, locate, stack, and count product throughout the facility. A significant portion of your shift — approximately 80% — will involve hands-on operation of a forklift, clamp truck, or other power equipment. You’ll also be responsible for verifying inbound and outbound product accuracy, checking for damage or infestation, and ensuring all goods match customer requirements.
Workplace safety and compliance are central to this role. You’ll be expected to follow all OSHA and MSDS standards, conduct daily equipment inspections, and maintain a clean and orderly facility. Benefits and Salary
This full-time role pays $23.50 per hour, with a shift running 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Monday to Friday. Responsibilities
The day-to-day duties of this Forklift Operator role centre on the safe and efficient movement of goods throughout DHL’s warehouse facility. You’ll play a key part in keeping the supply chain running smoothly by ensuring product accuracy, equipment upkeep, and compliance with safety standards at every step.
- Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, and other powered equipment to load, unload, move, stock, and stage products and materials for approximately 80% of each shift
- Pull and prepare product for shipment, verifying that the exact number and types of product are loaded correctly
- Verify load accuracy by checking load counts, stability, and product condition, and reporting any variances as necessary
- Maintain records and reports to support accurate inventory management across the facility
- Comply with all OSHA and MSDS safety standards throughout every shift
- Inspect equipment daily and change battery or LP tanks as required to keep machinery operational
- Assist with physical inventories and keep the facility’s equipment and work areas clean and orderly
- Cross-train in picking and packing of airplane engine parts as part of this dual-function role
Requirements / Skills
DHL is looking for a candidate who brings hands-on experience with warehouse equipment and takes pride in accuracy and safety. The ideal applicant is comfortable in a fast-paced logistics environment and is prepared to obtain or already holds the necessary MHE certifications for this role.
- Forklift operator certificate or the ability to complete a forklift training program within the first 30 days of employment
- Minimum 6 months of Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) order picker experience operating MHE equipment
- Ability to become MHE certified on an Order Picker (Cherry Picker) within the first 15 days of employment
- Picking and packing experience with strong attention to detail in a fast-paced setting
- Good computer skills to support record-keeping and inventory accuracy
- Six months of general warehouse experience, preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred
