  • Helpful with customers and associates.
  • Good listener and clear communicator, since you run the daily Team Huddle and give feedback.

Job Summary & Tips for Applying

AI-generated summary and tips to help you highlight your strengths effectively.

Quick Summary & What to Highlight: The Food & Consumables Team Lead job at Walmart in Toronto is a permanent, hourly role that mixes customer service with leading a department team. Put your customer service work first, then any experience delegating tasks and training or coaching co-workers, since those match the duties of the role.

Resume & Application Tips: Walmart sets no minimum qualifications, so your past work carries the application. List any retail, grocery or stockroom jobs and any time you showed a new colleague the ropes, covered a shift or opened a team meeting. Spell out what you did, for example: “Trained four new cashiers and cut checkout errors by a third.” Mention that you can work mornings, afternoons, evenings or nights if that is true for you.

Interview Preparation: Prepare one real example of helping a customer solve a problem and one of leading or guiding a small group, such as running a huddle or handing out tasks. Be ready to say which of the morning, afternoon, evening and night shifts you can work. Since the listing gives only a starting rate, ask what the hourly rate would be for your experience and how schedules are set.
