About the Role: CTV Class AZ (Class 1) Driver
The Commercial Transport Vehicle (CTV) Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transport of freight to and from FedEx stations and hub facilities. This includes the pickup and delivery of large skidded freight and multiple-piece shipments. You’ll work within established ramp procedures and comply with all regulatory requirements, including customs and dangerous goods protocols.

Responsibilities
As a CTV Class AZ Driver with FedEx, your day-to-day work involves safely transporting freight across stations and hub facilities while operating material handling equipment and ensuring all loads are properly balanced and sequenced. These responsibilities are essential to keeping FedEx’s logistics network running smoothly and on time.
- Transport freight to and from stations, hub facilities, and customer locations in a safe and timely manner
- Pick up and deliver large skidded freight and multiple-piece shipments with a sense of urgency
- Operate power material handling equipment for proper loading, weight balancing, and sequencing of unit loading devices
- Complete TORTES application entries and all required customs paperwork accurately and on time
- Follow ramp procedures and comply with all inter-provincial and cross-border regulatory requirements
- Handle dangerous goods in accordance with current certifications and FedEx safety standards
- Communicate effectively with hub management, station facilities, and dispatch throughout each shift
- Maintain proficiency in PUD processes and standard customs paperwork within the first 90 days (where applicable)
Requirements / Skills
FedEx is looking for a professional, safety-focused driver who brings strong geographical knowledge, regulatory awareness, and the ability to manage multiple priorities on the road. The ideal candidate holds a valid Class AZ (Class 1) licence and has a solid background in heavy vehicle operation.
- Class AZ (Class 1) driver’s licence with a clean driving record — no more than two violations or accidents in the past 24 months
- Air brake certification required (included with Class 1 in Quebec)
- 12 months of heavy vehicle driving experience preferred
- Current certifications in dangerous goods handling, material handling equipment, ULD inspection (FAA airworthiness), and t-stacking
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Knowledge of Tortes, Famis, and other Windows-based applications; Cosmos experience is an asset
- Broad geographical knowledge (intra-provincial) and understanding of inter-provincial regulations
- Ability to comply with FAST (U.S. customs) regulations and pass required Provincial Transportation physicals and written tests
- Strong customer service, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Bilingual in French and English required if residing in Quebec
