Bakery Associate – Walmart – Yorkton, SK

About the Role: Bakery Associate

As a Bakery Associate at Walmart Canada, your main focus is on delivering quality products and maintaining a department that’s ready for customers from the moment the doors open. You’ll follow thawing and baking guidelines closely to ensure every item looks and tastes great, and you’ll keep displays stocked, signed, and properly priced throughout your shift.

Adherence to food safety and handling procedures is a central part of the role. This includes cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, product rotation, and checking sell-by and expiration dates. You’ll also follow sanitation and cleaning procedures to keep the area safe and welcoming for both customers and your fellow associates.

Benefits and Salary

This position starts at a minimum rate of $15.80 per hour. Responsibilities

• Ensure quality and visual appearance of bakery merchandise including bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls
• Prepare bakery items by accurately following thawing and baking guidelines
• Stock and zone the bakery department so it’s fully ready for business
• Sign and price merchandise properly, following correct procedures for markups, markdowns, and labelling
• Adhere to food safety standards including cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, and product rotation
• Monitor sell-by and expiration dates to ensure only fresh, safe products are on shelves
• Follow sanitation and cleaning procedures throughout the department
• Secure all displays in a safe and proper manner
