About the Role: Asset Protection Representative

As an Asset Protection Representative at Loblaws, you’ll be stationed in a high-volume grocery and pharmacy setting where your visible presence alone serves as a powerful deterrent. You’ll monitor for theft and fraud, conduct lawful detentions when appropriate, and work alongside store leadership to identify loss trends and tighten prevention strategies. Responsibilities

Day-to-day, the Asset Protection Representative plays a critical role in keeping both people and products safe. From walking the floor to reviewing surveillance footage and coordinating with police, this position demands alertness, professionalism, and a methodical approach to loss prevention.

• Deter theft and fraud by maintaining a visible, professional presence throughout the store at all times
• Conduct lawful detentions of offenders following all company protocols and applicable legislation
• Investigate incidents thoroughly — gather and analyze evidence for both internal and external investigations
• Collaborate with law enforcement as required during incidents or ongoing investigations
• Partner with store leadership to identify loss trends and implement targeted shrink reduction strategies
• Monitor CCTV and surveillance systems to identify suspicious activity proactively
• Ensure compliance with company security standards, policies, and provincial regulations
• Adapt to changing priorities and maintain effectiveness across a flexible, dynamic schedule

Requirements / Skills

• Valid Provincial Security Guard Licence — a mandatory requirement for this role

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) for reporting and documentation
• Strong communication skills — approachable, confident, and professional in all interactions
• High level of integrity and accountability with a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Prior experience in grocery, pharmacy, or high-volume retail is considered an asset
• Candidates must be 18 years or older and willing to complete a criminal background check
