About the Role: Asset Protection Representative

As an Asset Protection Representative at Loblaws, your day-to-day will involve detecting and deterring theft and fraud on the retail floor, conducting internal investigations, and collaborating with law enforcement. You’ll compile and present evidence for court or arbitration proceedings, participate in store-level audits, and lead coaching sessions with colleagues on Asset Protection policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll be actively engaged in both the prevention and investigation sides of retail asset protection. From monitoring CCTV systems to presenting evidence in legal proceedings, the scope of this position is broad and requires someone who can handle sensitive situations with professionalism. Here’s what a typical work week looks like:

  • Deter, detect, and apprehend individuals involved in theft and fraud within retail locations
  • Collaborate with fellow APRs to investigate provincial or national Organized Retail Crime (ORC) cases
  • Liaise regularly with local police services on active cases and ongoing concerns
  • Detect and investigate internal investigations; compile and present evidence for court or arbitration
  • Identify shrink opportunities within operational core compliance processes
  • Build store partnerships through management meetings and huddles; coach colleagues on Asset Protection policies
  • Participate in store-level audits to support loss prevention efforts
  • Represent Loblaws at community events as part of the broader AP mandate

Requirements / Skills
