Responsibilities
Day to day, a Walmart Stockperson/Cartpusher plays an important supporting role in keeping the store safe, organized, and customer-ready. From the parking lot to the registers, your efforts directly impact the experience every shopper has when they walk through the doors.
- Collect shopping carts from cart corrals, the parking lot, and the store perimeter and return them to their designated safe storage location using Walmart-approved procedures
- Maintain the Cart Retrieval Log at the Customer Service Desk and ensure all necessary documentation is completed
- Assist customers promptly at all registers with carry-outs and carry-ins, verifying receipts for proof of purchase
- Perform cleaning and maintenance of restrooms on an occasional basis, handling chemicals according to correct disposal procedures
- Operate power equipment as needed, completing inspection reports prior to use
- Follow safety and emergency procedures including guidelines for hazardous communications, lockout/tagout, and blood-borne pathogens
- Wear personal protective equipment — including steel toe footwear and a reflective vest — during all cart collection activities
