Seasonal Package Delivery Driver – UPS – Rockdale, IL – $24.84 / hour
UPS is currently seeking a motivated Seasonal Package Delivery Driver to join their team in Rockdale, Illinois. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering packages of various sizes to customers in a timely and professional manner. This role requires physical stamina, as you will be lifting packages weighing up to 70 lbs and working full-time shifts, averaging 8-9.5 hours per day. As a Seasonal Package Delivery Driver, you will comply with UPS appearance guidelines and wear the company-provided uniform. A valid driver’s license (no CDL required) and passing the DOT physical exam are necessary to qualify for this position.
About the Role
The Seasonal Package Delivery Driver will be responsible for operating UPS’s iconic brown trucks, delivering packages to both homes and businesses. In this physically demanding and fast-paced role, you will be required to lift packages weighing up to 70 lbs, ensure timely deliveries, and provide exceptional customer service at each stop. This role offers the chance to work in an active environment, where you’ll spend your day both driving and engaging with customers.
Working Monday through Friday or Tuesday through Saturday, full-time UPS employees can expect to work 8 to 10 hours per day. As part of your responsibilities, you’ll be expected to adhere to UPS safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. While this is a seasonal role, there is potential for it to lead to permanent employment, offering enhanced benefits and compensation packages for full-time drivers.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive and deliver packages using UPS’s brown trucks in various weather conditions.
- Provide exceptional customer service while making timely deliveries.
- Comply with UPS appearance guidelines and follow the company’s safety and operational procedures.
- Lift and carry packages up to 70 lbs and follow proper package handling techniques.
- Complete daily driving routes while following assigned schedules.
Basic Qualifications
UPS requires the following basic qualifications for the Seasonal Package Delivery Driver role:
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs without assistance.
- Valid driver’s license (no CDL required).
- Pass the DOT physical exam.
- Excellent customer service skills and legal right to work in the U.S.
