About the Role: Preloader

This position sits at the heart of UPS’s package handling and delivery operation. As a Preloader, you’ll be responsible for the physical movement of packages — loading them into delivery vehicles and trailers, unloading incoming freight, and sorting packages based on postal codes. You’ll follow company-established handling methods to ensure accuracy and safety throughout the process.

The work takes place in a warehouse setting with changing temperatures, and you’ll be working inside truck trailers and package delivery vehicles as part of your regular duties. Teamwork, physical stamina, and attention to detail are essential for keeping operations running on time and packages delivered correctly.

Benefits and Salary

This role starts at $18.50 per hour (above the $17.95 minimum wage), with guaranteed wage progression through the Union Collective Agreement — reaching $36.53 per hour after seniority plus 48 months of service. Responsibilities

As a Preloader at UPS Burlington, your work directly supports the efficiency of one of Canada’s largest delivery networks. Each shift, you’ll be handling packages in a structured, physical environment where accuracy and pace both matter. Here’s what the role involves:

• Load and unload packages into and out of UPS package delivery vehicles and trailers
• Sort and stock packages accurately based on postal codes
• Execute company-established package handling methods correctly and consistently
• Work inside truck trailers and delivery vehicles as a regular part of the role
• Maintain productivity in a fast-paced, physically demanding warehouse environment
• Adapt to flexible start and finish times as operational needs change

Requirements / Skills

UPS is looking for candidates who are physically capable, reliable, and comfortable working early mornings in a demanding warehouse setting. You don’t need years of experience to get started here — what matters most is your ability to keep up, show up consistently, and follow established procedures.

• Physical fitness — ability to lift up to 70 lbs. (35 kg) regularly
• Full availability Tuesday through Saturday, all five days of the week
• Ability to read and memorize postal codes for accurate package sorting
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
• Comfortable working inside truck trailers and delivery vehicles
• Warehouse experience is considered an asset but is not required
