About the Role: Optical Student

As an Optical Student, you’ll assist members throughout the eyewear selection process — from choosing frames to picking up their completed order. Your work directly supports the licensed Optician on staff and contributes to the overall member experience in the optical department. You’ll handle point-of-sale transactions, process payments accurately, and ensure all orders are keyed correctly into the system.

Beyond the optical counter, you’ll also take care of department upkeep — stocking merchandise, maintaining cleanliness, and following all department procedures for production and record keeping. Teamwork and adherence to safety and security procedures are expected at all times. When needed, you may also assist in other areas of the warehouse.

Responsibilities

• Order supplies and equipment by entering requests into the computer system and following proper procedures
• Stock merchandise and maintain department standards for production, record keeping, merchandising, and product storage
• Clean and maintain the department through spraying, wiping, mopping, emptying trash, and operating the trash compactor and cardboard bailer
• Follow all safety and security procedures as required by the department and Costco policies
• Support other warehouse areas as needed

Requirements / Skills

• Provincial licence required — you must hold a current provincial optical licence and be registered with the applicable college
