Responsibilities

The Member Service Assistant role covers a wide range of tasks across member-facing service and warehouse security. You’ll be on the move throughout your shift, ensuring the safety of the building and the satisfaction of every member who walks through the door. Here’s what a typical day looks like:

  • Greet and welcome members entering the warehouse, verifying membership cards and offering carts when needed
  • Conduct hourly safety and security inspections throughout the warehouse and perimeter, on foot and by personal vehicle
  • Identify and correct safety hazards such as spills, trip hazards, and blocked exits, completing inspection forms and reporting results to the duty manager
  • Track member entry counts using a handheld counter and report half-hourly totals to the Front End team
  • Monitor warehouse access and discreetly observe armoured transport pick-ups, jewellery and register drawer handling while holding a panic button
  • Check member receipts at the exit, comparing merchandise to receipt, marking it with a highlighter, and thanking members on their way out
  • Assist members with directions, loading help, and general inquiries throughout the warehouse
  • Monitor after-hours exit doors from a personal vehicle and report suspicious activity to the duty manager or police as required
  • Attend warehouse safety meetings and assist in other areas of the warehouse as needed

Requirements / Skills
