About the Role: QA & Regulatory Affairs Senior Director
The QA & RA Senior Director – Canada is responsible for the oversight and implementation of the UPS Healthcare Quality Management System, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies, and processes that govern Storage, Distribution, and Transportation Facilities across Canada. This includes ensuring that GMP Distribution Centres, GDP sites, and regional third-party service providers fully understand and meet quality requirements from UPS Healthcare, its clients, and regulatory agencies including Health Canada.
The QMS at this level encompasses current requirements under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Distribution Practices (GDP), Good Storage Practices (GSP), ISO 13485, and ISO 9001. In this capacity, you’ll attend and support inspections conducted by local authorities and certifying bodies, maintain accreditation, and ensure adherence to both UPS Healthcare Quality Standards and relevant local legislation.

UPS offers a competitive base salary plus a performance-based bonus tied to company results, along with additional allowances. The total target compensation for this role is up to $237,000 CAD, excluding pension and benefits. Responsibilities
As the Senior Director of QA & Regulatory Affairs for Canada, your day-to-day work spans quality leadership, audit management, team development, and regulatory compliance across a large, distributed network. These responsibilities are central to maintaining the integrity of healthcare supply chains and upholding the standards that UPS Healthcare, its clients, and Health Canada expect.
- Lead and oversee Senior QA Managers, QA Managers, and QA Specialists to ensure consistent implementation of the UPS Healthcare QMS across all Canadian locations
- Communicate and maintain the UPS Healthcare quality plan to sustain compliance with all quality system requirements across the region
- Monitor and analyse quality performance metrics, ensure targets are achieved, and produce KPI reports for the Regional Quality Council
- Perform and host audits — including internal audits, client-led audits, and audits of external service providers — and complete all relevant follow-up documentation
- Manage discrepancies, issues, and CAPA plans, collate data, implement quality improvement initiatives, and conduct effectiveness checks
- Coordinate and lead the Regional Quality Council and contribute to the Global Quality Council
- Oversee validation, calibration, and preventative maintenance programmes to ensure consistent implementation across the Canadian region in coordination with the global validation team
- Identify training needs, deliver SOP training to staff and third-party providers, and manage UPS Healthcare training records
- Support business growth by managing strategic quality initiatives in partnership with the VP of Quality
Requirements / Skills
UPS Healthcare is seeking a candidate who brings deep expertise in pharmaceutical or biotechnology quality management combined with a strong command of regulatory compliance frameworks in Canada. The right person is equally comfortable guiding large teams and navigating complex audits or regulatory inspections.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and professional experience
- 7+ years of relevant experience, including Quality and Logistics Management
- 5+ years in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with deep knowledge of Health Canada, GMP, GDP, and ISO compliance
- Experience in Manufacturing, Logistics, and Project Management is considered a strong asset
- ASQ or ISO Certification is preferred
- Willingness to travel approximately 25% to support facilities and client audits across Canada
- Ability to ensure compliance with national and international standards and legislation, and manage quality records efficiently
