About the Role: Ground Handler (Ramp Agent – PM)

No prior experience in ramp operations is required. On-the-job training is provided, along with a safety vest and hearing protection.

Job Summary & Tips for Applying
Quick Summary & What to Highlight: The Ground Handler (Ramp Agent – PM) position at UPS in Mount Hope is a permanent part-time ramp operations role on a Monday-to-Friday evening shift. Candidates should put a valid G2 or G class driver’s licence with a clean abstract prominently on their resume, since operating ramp vehicles is a core duty, along with evidence of physical fitness and ability to lift up to 70 lbs, which the loading work requires every shift.
Resume & Application Tips: List your driver’s licence class and confirm your abstract is clean, as both are stated requirements. Because lifting 70 lbs and working outdoors through an evening shift are stated conditions, a brief note about relevant physical or outdoor work (warehouse, construction, landscaping, airport ground support) will strengthen your application. If you have operated any vehicle or equipment in a previous job, name the equipment type. A measurable example could look like: “Loaded and unloaded freight averaging 60 lbs per piece across a four-hour shift five nights a week.”
Interview Preparation: Be ready to describe situations where you worked outdoors in varying conditions or handled heavy physical tasks consistently across a shift. Since the posting states shift times may vary and can extend to five hours during peak periods, have a clear answer about your availability Monday to Friday on the PM Evening Shift. Worth asking: whether personal protective equipment beyond the provided safety vest and hearing protection is expected, and what the ramp training timeline looks like before working independently.
