About the Role: Full-Time Package Car Driver

As a UPS Package Car Driver based out of 12424 Dixie Rd, Caledon, ON, your primary responsibility is ensuring packages reach their destinations efficiently and safely. You’ll follow UPS’s safe and defensive driving methods while managing a route that may include residential and commercial stops. The shift runs from 9:15 AM, Tuesday through Saturday, with flexibility required based on operational needs and occasional Monday availability.

This role also involves loading and unloading trucks, maintaining accurate delivery records, and upholding UPS’s professional appearance standards by wearing the company-provided uniform. You’ll be working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment, both outdoors and in warehouse settings, so readiness for varying temperatures and consistent physical activity is essential.

Benefits and Salary

This position starts at $20.00 per hour, with a guaranteed wage progression through the Union Collective Agreement up to $42.33 per hour after 48 months of service. Drivers receive weekly pay via direct deposit every Friday, paid training, and overtime eligibility. After one year, you’ll gain access to extended health care benefits including vision, dental, life insurance, and health coverage, along with a pension plan and up to two weeks of paid vacation (increasing with years of service). Additional perks include personal paid days off, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), an employee referral bonus, free onsite parking, and access to UPS employee discounts from day one. Note that monthly union dues of approximately $52/month and a one-time $50 union initiation fee (deducted after 90 working days) apply.

Requirements / Skills

UPS is looking for candidates who are physically capable, safety-conscious, and dependable. The ideal driver brings strong navigation skills, a clean driving record, and the ability to manage a demanding workload with consistency. Here’s what you’ll need to qualify:

• Valid Ontario G driver’s licence — required for operating package vehicles on public roads
• Clean Driver’s Abstract — no violations in the past 12 months, no more than 2 violations in the last 36 months, no accidents, and a maximum of 5 demerit points over the past 3 years
• Physical fitness — ability to lift up to 70 lbs. (32 kg) unassisted; typical packages range from 25–35 lbs.
• Availability Tuesday through Saturday with flexibility for occasional Mondays as operationally required
• Customer service skills — the ability to interact courteously and professionally with residential and commercial recipients
• Navigation proficiency — comfortable using GPS devices, map apps, and printed map books to locate addresses efficiently
• Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with variable start and finish times based on operational needs
