About the Role: Employee Relations Business Partner
As an Employee Relations Business Partner (ERBP), you’ll serve as the primary resource for managers, leaders, and employees within Apple’s Retail organization on all matters related to employee relations. Your work will ensure consistent, objective, and legally compliant decision-making across a wide range of sensitive situations — from harassment and misconduct investigations to terminations, workplace accommodations, and HR policy guidance.
This is a high-impact position that requires someone comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy while managing multiple priorities across markets. You’ll regularly analyze ER metrics, identify emerging trends, and develop proactive strategies to cultivate positive employee relations throughout the business. Some travel (approximately 20–30%) is expected as part of this role.
Benefits and Salary
Apple offers a base pay range of $113,400 to $170,100 CAD for this role, with your specific pay determined by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Responsibilities
This role sits at the intersection of legal compliance, people strategy, and operational leadership. As an ERBP, your day-to-day work will require both analytical rigour and interpersonal skill — you’ll be resolving complex ER issues while also helping leadership teams make better, more informed decisions about their people.
- Identify and resolve complex and highly sensitive employee relations issues, including situations where no established precedent exists
- Advise and influence market leadership on critical ER decisions such as harassment, business conduct violations, terminations, and HR policy interpretation
- Evaluate and review employee-related decisions in response to employee concerns, ensuring fairness and consistency
- Conduct investigations into potential misconduct and policy violations across varying levels of complexity, with thorough and accurate documentation
- Perform workplace violence assessments and develop and implement appropriate response plans as situations require
- Provide consultation on workplace accommodations in collaboration with relevant business partners
- Communicate and implement country-wide employee relations programs, policies, and procedures
- Deliver training for HR, ER, and line management teams on employee relations topics and best practices
- Analyse ER metrics using the case management system to identify trends and develop proactive strategies that promote positive employee relations across the business
Requirements / Skills

- 7–12+ years of HR experience with a focus on employee relations in a professional setting
- Deep expertise in conducting investigations and producing thorough, accurate documentation
- Knowledge of Canadian employment law, including federal and provincial regulations (bilingual English/French-Canadian proficiency required to support employees across all Canadian provinces)
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, and work streams across different markets simultaneously
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 20–30% of the time
- Strong partnership-building skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with managers and HR colleagues
- Exceptional communication skills, including active listening, written communication, and presentation abilities
- Experience in a large corporation HR/ER environment is a preferred asset
