Director, Engineering Performance & AI Metrics – Canadian Tire – Toronto, ON
Location: Toronto, ON | Company: Canadian Tire
Canadian Tire Corporation is looking for a strategic, data-driven leader to take on the role of Director, Engineering Performance & AI Metrics at their headquarters in Toronto, Ontario. This is a senior leadership position at one of Canada’s most recognized retail and services companies, and it sits at the intersection of agile delivery excellence, AI-enabled ways of working, and enterprise performance measurement.
If you’re the kind of leader who gets energized by building measurement practices from the ground up — defining frameworks, shaping tooling strategy, and translating complex engineering and delivery signals into executive-level narratives — this role was built for you. You’ll be working at the forefront of how GenAI and agentic automation are reshaping delivery performance at scale.
About the Role: Director, Engineering Performance & AI Metrics
At its core, this position is responsible for defining how Canadian Tire measures engineering and agile delivery performance across the enterprise — and crucially, how those definitions evolve as AI becomes embedded in everyday ways of working. You’ll establish an Agile & AI Performance Measurement Practice, covering everything from governance and standards to team structure, tooling integration, and scalable visibility across delivery functions. The frameworks you build will cover flow, predictability, quality, value realization, team health, and AI adoption impact.
Beyond the technical side, this role demands a strong partnership mindset. You’ll collaborate across engineering, delivery, finance, transformation, and agile leadership to connect performance insights with real business outcomes. You’ll also ensure that metrics are used responsibly — supporting learning and continuous improvement rather than activity tracking or overly simplistic team comparisons.
Benefits and Salary
Canadian Tire offers competitive salaries and wages, along with a comprehensive benefits package. Eligible employees receive Canadian Tire Profit Sharing, retirement and savings programs, and store discounts. The company’s enhanced flex benefits program includes $5,000 per year in mental health benefits for eligible employees and their families, plus access to mental health tools and resources. Learning and development is supported through the Triangle Learning Academy.
