About the Role: Deli Bakery Team Associate

As a Deli Bakery Team Associate at Walmart Wasaga Beach, you’ll be responsible for maintaining product quality and presentation across both the deli and bakery sections. That means rotating stock, checking expiry dates, zoning product shelves, and ensuring everything is correctly signed and priced. You’ll prepare hot deli foods, handle rotisserie chicken, fill prepared side dishes, and follow precise thawing and baking guidelines for bakery items like bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.

Compliance and consistency are a big part of this role. You’ll be expected to follow cold chain protocols, temperature recording procedures, proper food handling practices, and Walmart’s standards for ordering, markups, markdowns, and product labelling. Being a reliable team player who communicates well and stays positive under pressure goes a long way here.

The minimum starting rate for this position is $18.05 per hour. Responsibilities

This role covers a wide range of tasks across both the Deli and Bakery departments. You’ll be responsible for food preparation, product maintenance, and customer service — all while adhering to strict food safety and compliance standards that are essential in a grocery retail environment.

• Zone the department to ensure shelves, tables, and bunkers are organized and products are in their correct locations
• Rotate stock and check for expired products to maintain freshness and quality standards
• Sign and price merchandise accurately so customers always have clear and correct information
• Follow cold chain compliance protocols including thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, and sell-by/expiration date management
• Take and prepare deli orders including hot food items and requested customer assistance
• Prepare rotisserie chicken using the oven and fill prepared side dishes for the display area
• Bake and thaw bakery items such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls following precise Walmart guidelines
• Follow proper procedures for ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing, flagging, pricing, and labelling
