About the Role: Cloud Program Manager
As a Cloud Program Manager within Google Cloud Consulting, you’ll lead programs that span offices, time zones, and business functions. Responsibilities
The day-to-day work of a Cloud Program Manager at Google revolves around keeping complex, multi-stakeholder programs on course. You’ll be the connective tissue between teams, ensuring goals are clearly defined, progress is tracked, and risks are addressed proactively before they become blockers.
- Manage project roadmaps that outline goals, deliverables, and timelines, using them to set stakeholder expectations and coordinate resources effectively
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand work problems and program goals, obtain prioritised deliverables, and assess program-wide impact
- Conduct risk identification and assessment activities across budget, schedule, resources, and technical areas, developing mitigation plans and monitoring risk evolution throughout the program lifecycle
- Establish and enforce processes in collaboration with stakeholders, holding teams accountable and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
- Identify sponsors and stakeholders, secure resources, and ensure all work aligns with Google’s compliance and privacy policies
- Support adoption of new and improved processes across geographically dispersed teams and external partners
Requirements / Skills
Google is looking for a candidate with a solid foundation in program management and a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects in a fast-moving, technology-driven environment. Strong organisational skills, comfort with ambiguity, and data-informed decision-making are all highly valued in this role.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field
- 5+ years of experience in program or project management, ideally within a technology company
- 5+ years managing cross-functional or cross-team projects, including experience coordinating across multiple stakeholder groups
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time as required by the role
- MBA or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is preferred, as is formal program management certification
- Experience with geographically dispersed teams and an understanding of cloud marketplace dynamics and rapid technology adoption is a strong asset
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to collect and leverage data for prioritisation decisions
