Responsibilities
Working as a Cashier Assistant at Costco Vancouver means you’re on the move throughout your entire shift. Your contributions directly support both the cashier team and the overall member experience, making every task count toward a smoother checkout process.
- Greet and assist members at the checkout lane, helping them load orders onto the conveyor belt and determining their packing preferences
- Pack member orders into boxes and load them onto separate carts or flatbeds efficiently and safely
- Check packaging for signs of tampering and follow all safety and security procedures at all times
- Run for items such as merchandise, boxes, register supplies, and item numbers as requested by cashiers to keep lines moving
- Transfer items not on the belt to a separate cart or flatbed as cashiers scan them
- Maintain cleanliness of the register area and general front-end area; clean spills and trip hazards immediately
- Retrieve carts and flatbeds from the parking area using a rope with clasping hook, keeping the lot free of debris
- Support cashiers during promotions and perform set-up and closing duties including restocking registers and collecting paperwork
- Operate the mechanical trash compactor and cardboard bailer as required
Requirements / Skills
