About the Role: Business Solutions Developer

The Business Solutions Developer supports the Retail Fundamentals team by developing and maintaining Power Platform assets — including Power BI dashboards, Power Automate flows, and Power Apps — using a variety of data sources. You’ll collaborate with business partners to translate retail KPIs, supply chain needs, and operational goals into clear requirements and functional deliverables. Senior team members will guide your growth as you deepen your understanding of the business.

Beyond the technical work, you’ll play an important role in stakeholder communication — sharing updates, explaining your builds, and helping teams take action on insights. You’ll also support project tracking, escalate risks proactively, and actively engage with data and BI teams to continuously improve the team’s analytics capabilities.

Canadian Tire offers a competitive salary range of $53,000 to $88,000, with final compensation depending on experience, skills, market benchmarks, and internal equity. Responsibilities

As a Business Solutions Developer, your day-to-day work centres on building and maintaining data tools and analytics products that help internal teams make better decisions. You’ll engage closely with business stakeholders and technical teams alike, making sure the solutions you develop are both technically sound and genuinely useful to the people relying on them.

  • Support development and maintenance of Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, and Copilot assets using various data sources, with guidance from senior team members
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business KPIs, retail operations, and supply chain needs, then translate them into clear requirements and deliverables
  • Document decisions and communicate clearly with developers and stakeholders to build a strong understanding of business implications
  • Monitor key SKUs and reports, support internal teams in interpreting insights, and escalate issues and opportunities as needed
  • Drive adoption of analytics across the Network Performance team and deliver measurable benefits
  • Support merchant teams with data-driven reports and tools to improve CTC efficiencies and sales performance
  • Maintain communication and feedback loops with stakeholders, and support project tracking through to completion
  • Engage with data and BI teams to continuously improve the team’s analytics capabilities

Requirements / Skills

The ideal candidate for this role brings a growth mindset and foundational experience with Microsoft’s Power Platform. Canadian Tire values people who are curious, collaborative, and eager to learn — technical depth will grow over time, but a genuine interest in retail analytics and a willingness to take initiative are what matter most here.

  • Power Platform experience — foundational to intermediate skills in Power BI (or Fabric), Power Apps, Power Automate, and/or Copilot Studio
  • SQL knowledge — basic to intermediate; familiarity with Snowflake is an asset
  • Azure DevOps and/or Python exposure considered an asset
  • Retail industry experience in areas such as sales support, operations, or supply chain is an asset
  • Clear communication skills — able to explain what you built, what you learned, and what you need from collaborators
  • Collaborative attitude — comfortable working with multiple partners, knowing when to ask for help, and escalating risks early
  • Openness to feedback and a genuine interest in improving how you work as you gain experience
