About the Role: Asset Protection Representative
As an Asset Protection Representative at Loblaws Kingston, you’ll take the lead on deterring, detecting, and apprehending individuals involved in theft and fraud within the retail location. You’ll work alongside other APRs on organized retail crime (ORC) investigations at both the provincial and national level, compiling evidence for court or arbitration proceedings. This position demands sharp investigative instincts and a thorough understanding of the Criminal Code of Canada, Trespass to Property Act, and Powers of Arrest.

Responsibilities
This role covers a wide range of asset protection activities, from frontline theft deterrence to complex internal investigations. Each responsibility plays a direct role in protecting store profitability and maintaining a safe shopping environment for customers and colleagues alike.
- Deter, detect, and apprehend individuals involved in theft and fraud within the retail location
- Collaborate with other APRs to investigate provincial or national organized retail crime (ORC) cases
- Partner with local police services on a regular basis to support investigations and community safety
- Conduct internal investigations, compiling and presenting evidence for court or arbitration proceedings
- Identify shrink opportunities within operational core compliance processes
- Build store partnerships through management meetings and huddles; coach and mentor colleagues on AP policies and procedures
- Participate in store-level audits and community events
- Monitor CCTV and surveillance systems to detect suspicious activity
