As a WHS Specialist at Amazon’s Calgary facility, you’ll do far more than tick boxes on a compliance checklist. You’ll be the building’s dedicated safety champion — conducting audits, investigating incidents, delivering training, and building the kind of trust with frontline associates that actually shifts behaviour. It’s hands-on, it’s meaningful, and it has real impact every single shift.

About the Role: WHS Specialist

The WHS Specialist is responsible for driving comprehensive safety programs through data-driven strategies. You’ll lead daily safety audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments, implementing solutions to prevent injuries before they happen. Delivering engaging safety training that resonates with associates is a core part of the role, as is championing continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety without slowing operations down.

Beyond the technical side, you’ll serve as an advocate for associate wellbeing — building relationships across all levels of the organization. You’ll work closely with frontline workers and leadership alike to drive behavioural change, ensure safety best practices become second nature, and translate safety data into narratives that influence real engagement. Physical demands are part of this role; you’ll be on your feet for up to 12 hours, lifting up to 49 pounds, and working in variable environments including areas with fluctuating temperatures and noise levels.
