Day Remodel Associate – Walmart Canada – Sydney, NS

This is a temporary (fixed term) Day Remodel Associate position at Walmart Canada in Sydney, Nova Scotia, located at 80 Sydney Port Access Rd. The minimum rate of pay starts at $17.15 per hour, and the schedule may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, and nights.

Working alongside the Remodel Lead and Day Remodel Manager, you’ll set up newly renovated departments, stock merchandise across multiple categories, and assist customers throughout ongoing remodel activity.

About the Role: Day Remodel Associate

The Day Remodel Associate is responsible for establishing standards in newly renovated departments. This includes completing modulars, building and moving counters, and merchandising endcaps, action alley, and side counters according to accepted standards.

You’ll stock a range of departments, including General Merchandise, Fashion, Consumables, Grocery, Dairy/Frozen, and Fresh. Cold chain compliance guidelines apply when working in applicable areas, and damaged or stolen merchandise must be scanned in a timely manner to assist in shrink prevention.

The role also involves securing high-ticket merchandise in designated locations and scanning departments before and after they are set to confirm proper in-stock levels. Work may occasionally take place in construction areas, where steel-toed footwear and a hard hat are required.

Responsibilities

Day Remodel Associates split their time between physical setup tasks and active customer assistance. The duties below cover both the remodel work itself and the in-stock and loss-prevention responsibilities that run alongside it.

• Secure high-ticket merchandise in a designated location as required.
• Set modulars by printing mod sheets and labels, cleaning counters, installing ESL where required, installing DSM, and linking mods to DSM labels where required.
• Stock departments across General Merchandise, Fashion, Consumables, Grocery, Dairy/Frozen, and Fresh.
• Follow cold chain compliance guidelines to maintain quality assurance in applicable departments.
• Assist with shrink prevention by scanning all damaged and stolen merchandise in a timely manner.
• Build new counters using kit sheets provided by Warehouse Associates, according to the print provided by the Lead Specialist.
• Move counters using the appropriate equipment.
• Merchandise endcaps, action alley, and side counters in accordance with accepted standards.
• Work in construction areas when required, including wearing steel-toed footwear and a hard hat.
• Assist customers proactively during remodel activity by helping them locate products and answering questions accurately.
• Scan departments before and after they are set to confirm proper in-stock levels.
