Responsibilities

As a Staff Software Developer on the Google Cloud Enterprise Chat team, your day-to-day work will span technical leadership and hands-on engineering. Requirements / Skills

Google is looking for a senior developer who brings both deep technical grounding and the leadership qualities needed to guide teams in a large-scale engineering environment. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with full stack development and a track record of shipping complex software products at scale.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of software development experience, with proven ability to build and scale complex systems
  • 5 years of experience testing and launching software products in production environments
  • Full stack development proficiency — back-end (Java, Python, Golang, or C++) and front-end (JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS) — with at least 5 years of experience
  • 3 years of experience in software design and architecture, including large-scale system design
  • Preferred: Master’s or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
  • Preferred: 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms
  • Preferred: 3 years in a technical leadership role, setting direction for project teams
  • Preferred: Experience working in complex, matrixed organizations with cross-functional scope
