About the Role: Post Office Assistant
As a Post Office Assistant with Canada Post, your primary focus will be delivering excellent counter service to the business community and general public. You’ll handle postal product sales, process mail, and ensure customers leave with the information and assistance they need. Responsibilities
Working at the post office counter in Cross Lake, you’ll be responsible for a range of customer-facing and operational duties. Each task plays a role in keeping the local postal service running smoothly and ensuring that community members and businesses get the support they need.

Requirements / Skills
Canada Post is seeking someone who is comfortable working with the public, can handle cash transactions accurately, and is physically able to manage the demands of a postal environment. Candidates who are already based in the Cross Lake community will be given priority consideration.
- Education: High school diploma or provincial equivalency and/or experience in business administration
- Customer service experience: Training and/or experience in a retail or service environment, including sales and cash handling
- Accounting knowledge: Understanding of general or post office accounting systems
- Physical fitness: Ability to lift mail containers of up to 50 lb, push or pull boxes, sort mail, and stand for extended periods
- Flexibility: Availability for temporary, on-call work as required
