Overnight Associate (Maintenance) – Walmart – Vaughan, ON

Walmart Canada’s store in Vaughan, Ontario is looking for an Overnight Associate (Maintenance) to help keep the shopping environment clean, safe, and ready for customers. In this role, you’ll follow a structured maintenance cleaning program across the store, working closely with fellow associates and supervisors to maintain high cleanliness standards throughout all departments — including fresh food areas, coolers, freezers, and general sales floor. About the Role: Overnight Associate (Maintenance)

As an Overnight Associate in Maintenance, your primary focus is executing the store’s comprehensive cleaning regiment on schedule. You’ll handle everything from mopping and sweeping floors to cleaning fresh department coolers and freezers, display fixtures, and non-sales areas. Attention to detail and reliability are key — your work directly impacts how the store looks and operates when customers walk through the doors each morning.

This role also involves inspecting cleaning and maintenance equipment to ensure everything is in proper working order, and flagging any supply shortages before they become a problem. You’ll be expected to follow Food Safety standards and cold chain guidelines when cleaning food areas, and to complete all required in-store certification programs that support a safe working environment.

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts at $17.75 per hour. Responsibilities

Working overnight, the Maintenance Associate is responsible for carrying out a thorough and consistent cleaning program across the entire store. Your work ensures that every department — from the sales floor to the back areas — meets Walmart’s cleanliness and safety standards by the time the store opens each day.

• Coordinate with the Stocking 3 Coach and team members to execute a comprehensive daily cleaning regiment
• Clean Fresh Departments on schedule, including coolers, freezers, and display fixtures, following Food Safety and cold chain guidelines
• Inspect all maintenance and cleaning equipment to confirm proper working condition and adequate supply levels
• Maintain floors throughout the store by mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, and caring for carpeted areas, including non-sales floor zones
• Promote workplace safety by completing required in-store certification programs and adhering to all company policies and procedures
• Control expenses related to cleaning supplies and equipment as part of the structured maintenance program
