Key Account Executive, Public Sector Sovereign – Google – Ottawa, ON
Location: Ottawa, ON | Company: Google
Ottawa is home to some of Canada’s most significant public sector institutions — and Google Cloud is looking for a seasoned sales professional to build and grow relationships at the highest levels. This Key Account Executive, Public Sector Sovereign role is a senior, strategic position for someone who understands both the complexity of government procurement and the transformative potential of cloud technology.
This is not your typical sales role. You’ll be working directly with federal government, defence, and security entities across the National Capital Region, guiding them through multi-year cloud transformation journeys. From initiating conversations to closing complex commercial agreements, you’ll lead the full sales cycle while orchestrating internal specialists and external partners to deliver meaningful results.
About the Role: Key Account Executive, Public Sector Sovereign
As a Key Account Executive within Google Cloud‘s Public Sector team, your primary mandate is driving revenue growth through strategic account management and consultative selling. You’ll develop deep knowledge of each customer’s critical business challenges and align them with Google Cloud’s portfolio of solutions — from infrastructure and security to AI and collaboration tools. This is a relationship-first role that demands both technical fluency and executive presence.
You’ll be expected to manage a healthy sales pipeline, produce accurate forecasts, and negotiate sophisticated multi-year contracts. Collaboration is central to success here — you’ll mobilize cross-functional internal teams including Customer Engineering, Partner teams, and Post-Sales, as well as external partners, to co-sell and deliver a seamless customer experience. A Secret security clearance (active or the ability to obtain one) is required given the nature of the public sector accounts involved.
Benefits and Salary
The base salary range for this full-time position in Canada is CAD $182,000–$187,000, plus bonus, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package.
