About the Role: Brokerage Representative III

The Brokerage Representative III is responsible for processing customs clearances, confirming declarations for shipments, and handling delivery service or import permits requests. This role involves assessing duties, taxes, and brokerage fees in compliance with local Customs and Revenue Agency regulations. You will also communicate with customers and handle documentation to ensure efficient operations.

This position is based at our facility in Bromont, QC, and requires availability Monday through Friday for an 8-hour shift. Flexibility with start times is required, and the hourly wage will be defined based on experience.

Responsibilities of a Brokerage Representative

• Assess duties, taxes, and brokerage fees for imported commodities in adherence to regulations.
• Handle documentation and requests for delivery services and import permits as needed.
• Ensure all customer profiles and data entries are accurate and up to date.
• Respond to inquiries from customers, drivers, customs, and other offices.
• Identify and address discrepancies in customer profiles and data.
• Collaborate with clients, carriers, and internal teams to ensure operational efficiency.
• Follow operational guidelines and cross-sell UPS services where applicable.
• Process information accurately and on time to meet productivity goals.

Requirements for the Brokerage Representative Role

• Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent (preferred).
• 2 to 4 years of experience in customs operations (required).
• Customs Specialist (CCS) certification or brokerage certification (preferred).
• Proficiency in French (90%) and English (10%).
• Strong knowledge of customs operations, laws, and regulations, including the HS system and CUSMA.
• Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• Ability to manage customer interactions in a call center environment (preferred).
