About the Role: Tire Installer

As a Tire Installer at Costco Vancouver, your day revolves around servicing member vehicles in the tire centre bay. You’ll be responsible for balancing, installing, and rotating tires, performing flat tire repairs to industry standards, resetting TPMS sensors using Costco-supplied tools, and managing tire inventory on the sales floor. You’ll also handle vehicle intake — noting any body damage, driving vehicles onto hydraulic hoists, and ensuring they’re safely returned to members after service.

Responsibilities

• Install, balance, and rotate tires on member vehicles following TIA R.I.S.T. and American Lift Institute standards

• Repair flat tires for members in accordance with Tire Industry Standards
• Operate hydraulic hoists and impact guns safely, noting any body damage on service orders before work begins
• Mount tires and install valve stems or TPMS service packs, filling tires with nitrogen to the appropriate pressure
• Process payments accurately — including cash, cheque, credit, and debit — and generate tire purchase and service invoices
• Stock, tag, and organize tires on the sales floor and in steel racks in line with the Tire Centre manager’s merchandising plan
• Assist members with tire selection, provide product recommendations using the 5 steps of selling, and answer questions by phone, email, or in person
• Coordinate with the Tire Centre manager and internal teams on special orders, pricing, inventory, and promotions
• Perform 40KM torque checks and maintain cleanliness in the install and sales areas

Requirements / Skills

Costco is looking for candidates who are mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a high-volume automotive service environment. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under pressure are key to succeeding in this role.

• Valid driver’s licence is required — you’ll be driving member vehicles in and out of the service bay
• Must pass Costco’s Tire Certification test as part of onboarding
• Previous tire installation or tire sales experience is preferred and will be prioritized during selection
• High School Diploma or GED is preferred
• Provincial propane certification (PP0-3) and TDG Certification from the PTI 100-11 program required for propane service locations
• Ability to communicate in French (oral and written) is required for candidates applying to Quebec locations
