Working directly alongside Network Development Engineers (NDEs) and Systems Development Engineers (SysDEs), you’ll drive complex, cross-functional networking projects from concept through delivery. About the Role: Technical Infra Program Manager
As a Technical Infra Program Manager, you’ll own the full lifecycle of enterprise networking projects — defining strategy, setting requirements, building timelines, and coordinating across teams including Global IT, Corporate Infrastructure, enterprise network engineers, and external vendors. Your ability to earn the respect of engineers while simultaneously delivering projects on time and within budget will be central to your success.
This is not a hands-off coordination role. You’ll be expected to dive deep into technical problems, facilitate conflict resolution, proactively identify and mitigate risks, and keep stakeholders at all levels informed throughout the project cycle. A genuine background in IT infrastructure, network engineering, or related technical disciplines is essential.
Benefits and Salary
Amazon offers a competitive salary range of $97,600 to $163,000 CAD annually for this position in Vancouver, BC. In addition to base salary, total compensation may include sign-on payments and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). Responsibilities
Day to day, this role is about keeping complex, multi-stakeholder networking projects moving forward — balancing technical depth with programme rigour. You’ll be the connective tissue between engineers and leadership, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks and that every project milestone is met with intention.
- Manage multiple competing cross-functional projects and programmes simultaneously across the corporate network engineering space
- Collaborate daily with engineers, technicians, project managers, and senior leadership to align priorities and resolve blockers
- Facilitate meetings, create and maintain detailed project timelines, and keep large, diverse groups informed of progress and obstacles
- Develop creative solutions to complex technical problems alongside engineering teams, with a close eye on timelines and costs
- Provide timely updates on project status to leadership and track progress against key milestones
- Define and communicate business strategy, project requirements, and delivery timelines for enterprise networking initiatives
- Identify and mitigate risks proactively, and facilitate conflict resolution throughout the full project lifecycle
Requirements / Skills
Amazon is looking for a technically grounded programme manager who can command credibility with engineering teams while delivering consistent results. The ideal candidate brings hands-on networking experience combined with proven project management ability in complex, fast-moving environments.
- 3+ years of technical infrastructure management experience, with a background that includes networking projects
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals and best practices, including emerging infrastructure technologies
- Understanding of internet security concepts — firewalls, common vulnerabilities, and security architecture
- CCNA or equivalent certification preferred, or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Experience with network protocols such as DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS, ISIS, and/or OSPF is a strong asset
- Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget, including experience managing and troubleshooting network environments
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to operate effectively under ambiguity
