Team Leader, Asset Protection – Walmart – Surrey, BC

Walmart Canada’s Surrey location is looking for a Team Leader, Asset Protection to oversee nighttime security operations at their distribution and retail site. This is a leadership role working Monday through Friday from 7:00 PM to 3:30 AM, making it a great fit for someone who thrives in a structured overnight environment and has a strong background in loss prevention and team supervision.

In this role, you’ll be the go-to person for managing an Asset Protection team on a 24/7 basis, ensuring that all policies and procedures around site safety, physical security, and associate wellbeing are consistently followed. You’ll lead investigations, coordinate training, and partner with operational departments to reduce shrink and strengthen security practices across the site.

About the Role: Team Leader, Asset Protection

As the Asset Protection Team Leader, your primary responsibility is ensuring that Walmart’s loss prevention programs are running effectively during your shift. You’ll regularly inspect the workplace to uphold site safety and physical security standards, while guiding your team through real-world situations involving theft, property damage, and security incidents. You’ll prepare thorough investigation reports and recommend corrective measures that align with company policy.

Beyond security oversight, this role also involves scheduling and workforce management, training development, emergency response supervision, and collaboration with operational teams. Strong communication and positive leadership are essential — you’ll be coaching and engaging your team to bring out their best performance every shift.

Benefits and Salary

The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $75,000 per year, with pay determined based on relevant experience. Responsibilities

The Team Leader, Asset Protection plays a critical role in keeping Walmart’s Surrey site safe and secure during overnight operations. From supervising an AP team to conducting investigations and delivering training, this position covers a wide range of loss prevention and operational support functions that directly impact the health and security of the workplace.

• Supervise the Asset Protection team on a 24/7 basis, ensuring all programs, policies, and procedures are consistently followed
• Inspect the workplace regularly to maintain site safety, physical security, and associate security standards
• Investigate and document all incidents involving theft, property damage, security breaches, and shrink — preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions
• Provide training support by identifying, developing, and delivering or sourcing AP education for operational teams
• Supervise emergency response procedures and maintain accurate records of all emergency equipment testing
• Partner with operational departments to ensure AP procedures and safe work practices are applied throughout the site
• Participate in AP and Total Loss initiatives including audits, data analysis, process validation, and shrink mitigation
• Schedule full-time and part-time personnel weekly to meet operational requirements while monitoring timekeeping and attendance
