As a Post Office Assistant, your primary focus will be delivering excellent counter services to the public and local businesses. Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll be the go-to person for postal counter services across several communities in the Mont-Louis region. Every day brings a mix of customer interactions, mail processing, and problem-solving — all in service of keeping Canada Post’s operations running smoothly at the local level.
- Sell postal products and services to both the general public and the business community
- Sort, distribute, and process mail into appropriate classifications with accuracy and efficiency
- Provide customers with relevant information, forms, and guidance on postal services
- Resolve delivery and service difficulties thoroughly and in a timely manner
- Handle cash transactions accurately as part of retail counter operations
- Lift and move mail containers of up to 50 lb, and stand for extended periods as required
Requirements / Skills
Canada Post is looking for someone who is physically capable, customer-oriented, and flexible enough to adapt to on-call scheduling demands. The ideal candidate lives within one of the communities served and brings a positive attitude to every interaction.
- High school diploma or provincial equivalency and/or experience in business administration
- Experience in retail or service environments, including sales and cash-handling
- Understanding of general or post office accounting systems is an asset
- Physical fitness to lift up to 50 lb, push/pull boxes, sort mail, and stand for long periods
- Flexibility to be available for temporary, on-call work as needed
- French language proficiency is essential for this role
