About the Role – Parts Advisor

As a Parts Advisor at Tesla, you’ll be responsible for sourcing, monitoring, and managing parts inventory to ensure our service operations run smoothly. Your work will support our Technicians and contribute directly to customer satisfaction by ensuring the timely availability of parts.

Key Responsibilities for the Parts Advisor

This role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Source parts from Distribution Centers and other Service Centers and allocate them to vehicle service appointments.
  • Monitor inventory within the parts system, updating relevant team members on parts availability.
  • Review and prepare upcoming appointments, ensuring that all necessary documentation is up to date in the system.
  • Process internal orders for shipment to other Service Centers.
  • Manage warranty part shipments for quality assurance, including the handling of hazardous materials and high-voltage batteries.
  • Receive, inspect, and stock incoming inventory and special-order parts.
  • Escalate parts issues from suppliers in collaboration with the Regional Parts Manager, acting as a key point of contact to vendors and providing constructive feedback for future improvements.
  • Transport parts using a van or forklift, coordinating with third parties as necessary.

What You’ll Bring

To excel as a Parts Advisor at Tesla, candidates should possess the following:

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment and contribute to shared goals.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain appropriate state licensing, if required.
  • Physical ability to perform repetitive tasks, including lifting up to 25 lbs., and standing, bending, and sitting for extended periods.
  • Vision capabilities that include identifying parts, operating systems, and recognizing potential safety hazards within the parts department.
