Package Handler Trainer PT – FedEx – Edmonton, AB
Location: Edmonton, AB | Company: Fedex
FedEx’s Edmonton facility is looking for a Part-Time Package Handler Trainer to join their facility operations team at 9126 130 St SW, Edmonton, Alberta. This role goes beyond standard package handling — you’ll be guiding and developing your fellow Package Handlers, helping keep the operation running safely and efficiently while staying hands-on with the physical work yourself.
As a Package Handler Trainer (PT), you’ll split your time between training coworkers on proper loading, unloading, palletizing, and scanning techniques, and actively participating in the physical movement of packages throughout the sort. It’s a role built for someone who leads by example and thrives in a fast-paced, team-driven warehouse environment.
About the Role: Package Handler Trainer PT
In this position, you’ll be responsible for onboarding new Package Handlers and supporting those who need additional coaching on techniques like SWAK (Scan Weigh and Key), smalls handling, non-conveyable package handling, and dock safety. You’ll work closely with management, providing real-time updates on sort conditions so the team can make smart operational decisions. You may also rotate through various areas including Loader, Unloader, Palletizer, Facer, and Switcher roles.
Physical demands are a core part of this job. You’ll be lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling packages continuously throughout a shift of approximately 3–5 hours, with the possibility of working more than one shift per day. Working conditions include exposure to hot and cold temperatures and a loud noise environment, so comfort with a physical, industrial workspace is essential. Safety standards and proper procedures must be reinforced at all times among peers.
Benefits and Salary
FedEx is committed to employment equity and inclusion, welcoming candidates from all backgrounds including women, persons with disabilities, Indigenous peoples, and 2SLGBTQ+ communities. Specific pay details for this position were not listed in the posting, but FedEx is known for offering competitive compensation for part-time roles.
