Role of the Vice President, Software Engineering
As a Vice President in our Software Engineering team, your responsibilities will include:
- Develop and Enhance Software Solutions: Design and implement high-quality, scalable technology solutions that support Goldman Sachs’ global businesses.
- Full SDLC Management: Own the entire Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) from requirements gathering, design, and coding to testing, deployment, and production support.
- Collaboration and Innovation: Work with internal teams to develop solution designs and identify new technologies that can transform our financial platforms.
- Robust Testing Suites: Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive testing suites to ensure safe, complete, and scalable solutions across various business lines.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Provide training and guidance to junior team members, fostering their growth and development.
Job Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in a similar role OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and five (5) years of experience in a similar role.
- Experience with the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, documentation, deployment, and production support.
- Experience building multi-threaded and multi-process service-oriented C++ or Java enterprise applications within a Unix environment.
- Proficiency in programming technologies such as Java, Spring, Hibernate, RabbitMQ, or Kafka.
- Experience with relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as Sybase or Oracle.
- Experience with micro-services architecture design and development, including REST, Java, Spring, or other back-end technologies.
- Proficiency in database query languages, including SQL or NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience driving process improvements and leading cross-functional teams.
- Advanced knowledge and experience in developing enterprise-level software solutions within the finance industry.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.
