This position involves operating your own motor vehicle to deliver mail and parcels along rural and suburban routes in and around Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce. • Sort and organize mail items accurately before heading out on your delivery route
• Collect and deliver mail and parcels in a safe and timely manner across rural and suburban areas
• Maintain knowledge of local roads, customers, and delivery receptacles in your designated area
• Ensure mail security at all times while it is in your possession
• Process Canada Post products and services including Change of Address Notifications, Damaged Mail, and Items Delivered Bills
• Wear and display Canada Post identification visibly while delivering and collecting mail
• Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lb (22.7 kg) as part of daily parcel handling
• Operate a motor vehicle safely in all weather and traffic conditions

Requirements / Skills

Canada Post is looking for candidates who are reliable, organized, and comfortable working on their own out in the field. Given the nature of this role, having a solid driving record and a suitable vehicle is just as important as your work ethic and attitude.

• Valid permanent provincial driver’s licence — Class 5 or G required
• Satisfactory safe driving record — a current driver’s abstract dated within the last 30 days will be required if selected
• Personal vehicle meeting Canada Post specifications — minimum cargo capacity of 50 cu ft (1,415 litres), automatic transmission, power windows, metal roof-top with accessory power outlet, and appropriate window sill height
• Automobile liability insurance — must be maintained and your insurer notified of vehicle use for Canada Post deliveries
• Experience making deliveries and operating a motor vehicle in various weather and traffic conditions
• French language proficiency — French is essential for this position
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb (22.7 kg) on a regular basis throughout the workday
