Responsibilities
Working at the post office counter means you’re at the centre of your community’s communications and logistics. Each day, a Post Office Assistant at Canada Post handles a mix of customer service, mail processing, and administrative tasks that keep postal operations running smoothly and efficiently.
- Sell postal products and services to members of the public and the local business community
- Sort, distribute, and process incoming and outgoing mail into the appropriate classifications
- Provide customers with accurate information, postal forms, and guidance on services available
- Address delivery and service difficulties, resolving customer concerns thoroughly and promptly
- Handle cash transactions and operate point-of-sale systems in accordance with accounting procedures
- Lift and move mail containers weighing up to 50 lb, push or pull boxes, and remain on your feet for extended periods
Requirements / Skills
Canada Post is looking for a candidate who is community-minded, physically capable, and comfortable serving the public in a retail or service setting. - High school diploma or provincial equivalency, and/or relevant experience in business administration

- Physical fitness to lift up to 50 lb, handle packages, sort mail, and stand for extended periods
- Flexibility to be available for on-call, temporary shifts as required
- French language proficiency — French is essential for this position
