As a Generator Service Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the power infrastructure of our data centers. This position requires technical expertise and a passion for safety and customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and conducting quality repairs on electrical generator systems, contributing directly to AWS’s global mission.

About the Role

The Generator Service Technician will be the go-to expert for electrical generator systems, providing both technical support and customer interaction to ensure exceptional service and data center uptime.

You will work closely with the Generator Service Manager, traveling to various locations to execute professional repairs, document maintenance operations, and ensure safety protocols are followed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow all Company safety rules and maintain a safe, clean work area.
  • Travel to designated sites and perform professional quality field service repairs.
  • Advise the Generator Service Manager of parts needed for necessary repairs.
  • Document detailed and legible descriptions of all repair operations performed.
  • Respond to customer requests and support field service operations.
  • Travel 80-90% of the time in an assigned region, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during all field operations.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1+ years of data center or mission-critical facilities experience (e.g., hospitals, military facilities).
  • 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience.
  • DOT Medical Card – Qualify and maintain DOT certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of data center or mission-critical facilities experience.
