About the Role
As an FAA Liaison Supervisor, you will serve as the primary point of contact for FAA concerns regarding aircraft maintenance and engineering. You will perform analyses of regulatory and procedural deficiencies, develop corrective action plans, and ensure the implementation of policies for aircraft inspection functions. This role involves collaborating with maintenance partners and conducting investigations related to regulatory non-compliance and quality deficiencies, ensuring airworthiness in compliance with 14 CFR Part 121 regulations.
In this position, you will also engage in Safety Risk Management (SRM) processes, systematically applying management policies and procedures to identify, evaluate, and control risks inherent in UPS Airlines’ aviation operations. With the chance to travel up to 25% of the time, both domestically and internationally, this role provides a dynamic and challenging work experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for FAA concerns related to aircraft maintenance and engineering.
- Perform analyses of regulatory and procedural deficiencies; develop corrective action plans.
- Research and respond to data requests from the FAA to aid in investigations and inspections.
- Inspect aircraft parts, components, and materials following FAA and UPS procedures and safety standards.
- Audit technical records to support the airworthiness of aircraft in compliance with 14 CFR Part 121.
- Monitor the implementation of corrective actions to satisfy FAA inspection findings.
- Collaborate with maintenance partners to resolve regulatory or procedural deficiencies.
- Conduct investigations into aircraft maintenance operations related to regulatory non-compliance and quality deficiencies.
- Execute Safety Risk Management (SRM) processes in accordance with Airline Safety Management Systems (SMS).
Required Skills
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate.
- Experience in an aviation quality assurance role.
- Working knowledge of 14 CFR Part 121 regulations and guidance material.
- Experience with airline quality assurance and SMS programs, including investigations, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
- Understanding of 14 CFR Part 121 Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program (CAMP).
- Experience conducting investigations in an aviation-related environment.
- Strong technical writing and presentation skills regarding aircraft maintenance and regulatory matters.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time (domestic and international).

- Expertise in drafting specialized or technical documents.
- Ability to tailor written communication to various audiences and effectively use visual elements (e.g., tables, graphs, flowcharts).
- Experience in risk management programs, understanding how risk impacts the organization’s long-term strategy.
