About the Role: Delivery Practice Manager, Data & AI/ML

As a Delivery Practice Manager, your primary mandate is to understand and define the business outcomes clients want to achieve through the AWS Cloud — and then build the team, strategy, and execution plan to get them there. You’ll identify applicable AWS Professional Services offerings, craft compelling proposals and Statements of Work (SOWs), and oversee portfolio management across multiple concurrent engagements. Your ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value will be central to earning client trust and delivering results.

Responsibilities

As a Delivery Practice Manager at AWS ProServe, your day-to-day work spans team leadership, client strategy, and business development. You’ll be accountable for the full lifecycle of engagements — from scoping and proposal development through to successful delivery — while keeping your team aligned, motivated, and growing. Here’s what you’ll be doing on a regular basis:

  • Build and lead a high-performing team of Delivery Consultants and Engagement Managers, driving professional growth through tailored development plans
  • Engage directly with Director and C-level executives, governing boards, and key stakeholders to define business outcomes and build lasting client relationships
  • Identify and capture business opportunities by scoping technical requirements, developing proposals, and crafting Statements of Work (SOWs)
  • Manage practice P&L and ensure all client engagements are delivered on time, within budget, and in a manner that exceeds expectations
  • Collaborate with Account Executives, Cloud Architects, and partner teams to deploy innovative Data & AI/ML solutions on the AWS Cloud
  • Drive thought leadership initiatives and business development programs to grow the ProServe practice and expand the client base
  • Oversee and provide guidance on portfolio management, ensuring alignment between team capabilities and client needs
  • Champion customer satisfaction by meeting and consistently surpassing agreed targets and service benchmarks

Requirements / Skills

AWS ProServe is looking for a seasoned technology leader who brings equal parts strategic vision and hands-on delivery expertise. The ideal candidate is comfortable in boardrooms and deep technical conversations alike — someone who can inspire a team, win client trust, and manage a complex practice with rigour and creativity.

  • IT and/or Management Consulting experience combined with demonstrated people leadership in high-performing service line teams
  • IT transformation project management experience, including business operations and financial oversight
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Hands-on expertise in designing, developing, and deploying complex data & analytics strategies and solutions at scale for Fortune 500 clients across multiple industries
  • Proven experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile/iterative methodologies
  • French and English fluency (required for the Quebec location, due to global interaction requirements with Amazon entities and stakeholders across Canada)
  • AWS Professional certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional) are a strong asset
  • Experience with data pipelines and ML frameworks including GenAI, LLMs, SageMaker, Bedrock, and programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, Java, Scala, and Spark — considered a significant advantage
  • Financial acumen with P&L management experience and strong project and resource management capabilities
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with a track record of building and maintaining C-suite relationships
