Role of the Technical Support Engineer

As a Technical Support Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Response and Resolution: Own, investigate, and solve complex customer technical issues, acting as an advisor to the customer, collaborating across teams, and leveraging troubleshooting tools and practices.
  • Readiness: Lead in building communities with peer delivery roles, share knowledge through readiness programs, and provide technical coaching and mentoring to others.
  • Product/Process Improvement: Engage with Microsoft Engineering/Supportability teams to investigate potential product defects and help develop automation techniques and diagnostic tools that drive Microsoft product improvements.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of technical support, technical consulting experience, or information technology experience; OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in C, C++, Python, C#, and Java coding.
  • Experience with Azure or AWS cloud development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, IoT, and troubleshooting hardware devices.
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well in a highly collaborative team and in ambiguous situations.

Compensation & Benefits

The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $91,000 – CAD $168,400 per year.
