Role of the Vendor Manager, PC/IT

As a Vendor Manager, PC/IT, you will be accountable for business results across the vendors and categories you manage.

Your direct responsibility will be to manage the performance of the product portfolio, including developing vendor relationships, negotiating terms and contracts, expanding product selection, setting prices, setting inventory forecasts, developing marketing programs, driving sales and margin improvements, and creating best-in-class customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct financial analysis of business opportunities to meet and exceed revenue and profitability targets by executing annual and ongoing vendor negotiations.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the industry, business trends, events, and continually monitor both industry and competitor developments.
  • Maximize Amazon’s business and financial profitability through selection optimization and expansion opportunities.
  • Advocate for customer needs and drive delivery of improvements that provide Amazon customers with an unparalleled shopping experience.
  • Build vendor/brand relationships and be the primary point of contact for vendor selection, on-boarding, escalations, and negotiations.
  • Coordinate across cross-functional teams and communicate with internal and external stakeholders, all while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Own forecasting, analyzing, understanding, and reporting on the business, including understanding the strategic context of internal and external variables that impact your business.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications:

  • 3+ years of Excel experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in retail, operations, product or program management, or business management/consulting with negotiations and delivering results experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or 3+ years of professional or military experience.
  • Experience with financial analysis and P&L ownership.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience managing large data sets and utilizing them to drive performance and process improvements.
  • Experience in vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion, inventory management, and product development.

Compensation

The base pay for this position ranges from $66,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $141,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors, including market location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
