In this position, you will act as a key liaison between Amazon and strategic vendors, executing joint business plans and driving growth initiatives. This role offers a robust foundation for future success, providing broad exposure to multiple functional areas, including in-stock management, vendor relations, and site merchandising.
About the Position: Vendor Manager
As a Vendor Manager at Amazon, you will be the business owner for your assigned vendors, overseeing forecasting, supply chain projects, pricing strategies, and marketing initiatives. Your role will involve negotiating costs, optimizing online product presence, and analyzing financial performance to ensure profitability and operational efficiency.
This role is ideal for candidates with strong analytical skills, a passion for e-commerce, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will work collaboratively with internal teams to deliver exceptional results and drive the success of your vendors in Amazon’s online marketplace.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, your primary responsibilities include:
- Business Ownership: Act as the primary business owner for your assigned vendors, understanding both internal and external factors affecting the business.
- Forecasting and Analysis: Monitor and report on vendor performance, including sales forecasts, ROI analysis, and supply chain optimization.
- Vendor Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with strategic vendors, negotiating costs and identifying promotional opportunities.
- Online Optimization: Enhance product content and visibility on Amazon.ca to drive customer awareness and sales.
- Marketing Initiatives: Create and execute marketing plans to promote vendor products across Amazon’s platform.
- Operational Improvements: Lead cross-category initiatives to improve processes and operational efficiency.
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for a talented and driven individual with the following qualifications:
- Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of Excel experience.
- 5+ years in retail, operations, product or program management, or business management with proven results in negotiations.
- Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of equivalent professional or military experience.
- Experience with financial analysis and P&L ownership.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing large data sets to drive performance improvements.
- Proficiency in vendor negotiations, inventory management, and pricing strategies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
